Ceremony

Timing

For those who are attending the ceremony, the time can be found on your invite. We ask that you arrive at the venue in plenty of time! But not too early… shall we say aim for 30 minutes to 1 hour at the most?

Don’t worry, there is a bar open from 12:30…

Childcare

Childcare will be provided for children under 12 (or those who feel unable to sit quietly through the ceremony…this may include big kids).

We are asking that the ceremony is child free. I mean, who wants to sit quietly for more than 20 minutes whilst some grown ups say things to each other? We though they’d much rather be occupied either watching a film or playing some games* outside!

At some point after the ceremony they will re-join us (if we can tear them away) for food and the rest of the day.

* Don’t worry, grown-ups won’t miss out and Lea has assured me that we can play out later.

Confetti

Confetti will be provided (*phew* I hear you say, one less thing to remember/pack).

What you don’t know is that over the last THREE YEARS we have steadily been harvesting the petals from family/friends’ gardens. So the confetti will all be responsibly sourced, organic, free-range, and lovingly scrunched by Lea’s Grandma Sheila.

Use of Social Media

We’ve persuaded Ian not to confiscate phones at the door, with the caveat that you don’t post any pictures of the wedding on social media until the day after.

We know this is a big ask for some of you (mainly Lea…) but we’d love the whole day to be as special for each and every one of you, and for us all to celebrate in the moment. When the time comes to post on socials (please avoid very drunk photos…), we have a hashtag #teamracewaywedding.

We’ll also work out a way to share these with everyone via some kind of dropbox, but we’ll issue any information on this on the day.
